My question is how to apply augemented, secundials, tersian, quardal and quaintal chords
Raydon,
Thanks for posting a comment.
Wow, one question that entails a lot of explanations. Amazing!
I would expect that you are an educator, or college student.
Knowing the terms and being able to analyze them in classical music, is 1 thing,
but to apply the theories in composing, or arranging, is the next step.
For example: Augmented Chords, this would be a chord with a raised 5th. This can only be used on V7 chords. I love this chord and use it all time.
There are rules to how you can use color tones (extensions), or altered chords.
For example to use a quartal chord has to follow the rules of what chords support which extensions and have to written accordingly, while at the same
time using the 4th’s between tones.
These are huge explanations, and can’t be all put into a comment.
Hint; minor chord support a 9-11-13 and if in harmonic minor a 13-.
Using this idea, which quardal tones can be used with a minor chord?
(Think of inversions also)
Alana
So, study which extensions or alterations you can use with which chords
and this will give you a start.
