Where is this master class thing? At a location, via email, phone, a letter posted to our address?

Alana 01/19/2010 at 8:02 pm

Thanks for writing.
It’s via the telephone and the time is 5:00 p.m P.S.T.
I see that you are in England and it will be quite late for you.
But…the class is recorded and if you sign up, you will receive
1) all of the lessons and music.
2)Audio & slides of the class.

So if you can’t attent LIVE-you can still participate in the
recordings.

Thanks for writing.

I like to learn to play the piano but I think your classes are too advanced. I am a senior and was trying to learn with someone but she couldn’t do it any more.

Alana 01/19/2010 at 9:25 pm

Ibis,
Thank you for the comment.
The classes are all about learning & playing your chords.
Where are you in your lessons?
Are you learning how to ready music?
Do you know how to read music but nothing on chords?
Have you learned your scales?

Let me know and I can guide you from that point.

Thanks
Alana

I see a 10th in the Yesterday music. If you can’t reach that in your left hand how do you play it?

Brunilda 03/24/2010 at 2:29 am

Hi Everyone. My birthday today! How are you all on “Happy Birthday to You”? but not until the end in case I am late joining the class. I have a morning tea this morning.

Alana 03/26/2010 at 6:13 pm

Margery, Hope you had a great birthday. Yes, if I had checked my comments earlier, we would have played Happy Birthday for you. Wish I could have been at your tea. Sounds yummy.

Hi Brunilda,
Yes, I will help you, just remind me laster as I am so busy right now.

Margery 04/12/2010 at 10:40 am

Great to have a bit of extra time over Easter. I have succeeded in memorising those chord progressions for Can You Read My Mind. A couple of the changes are still a bit tricky but I am thrilled to be noticing the patterns that the chords make with just a few inversions and just minimum movements of the hands or just changing a couple of fingers
I have spent a lot of time dividing the melody up between the two cellos and adding a few little extra bits of melody. For the time being I will concentrate on keeping my chord changes steady . When we are keeping fairly well together I might be able to launch out into some of those seggestions of yours Alana.
I love “SUMMERTIME” it will be delightful to work on that.

Alana 04/13/2010 at 4:21 pm

Margery,
You’re just doing fabulous!!
This is so exciting for both of us. As we move into more keys and keep playing the chords, it will get easier & easier.
You’re so fortunate to be able to play with other instruments, it makes a huge difference in your learning curve.

Yes, summertime we will a lot of fun. Playing blues and adding licks will give you freedom and you will be able
to start exploring your own creativity.

See you tonight.

Thanks for email reminder Alana.
I had hoped to get some scales on to my mp3 PLAYER TO SEND YOU MY i STILL HAVE A WAY TO GO TO GET THE CHORD CHANGES SMOOTH IN THE LEFT HAND WHILE KEEPING THE SCALE GOING IN THE RIGHT BUT i AM CERTAINLY ENJOYING scales AS i HAVE NEVER DONE BEFORE .
Turning the wrist to get them rippling is just magic, getting my thumb under smoothly is an extra challenge.
re PASSWORD “mymastersclass101 “is giving me a little bit of trouble at the moment . I still have an hour or so to go to get it working

margery 04/21/2010 at 12:23 am

Hi Alana. Still no luck with that password my mastersclass 101 is not getting me in for some reason

Angela Calvey 05/15/2010 at 12:11 pm

Alana should I be signing up for the Mymastersclass101. I have been present during those lessons but not sure if I should be signing up. thanks Angela

Alana 05/15/2010 at 2:55 pm

Hi Angela, Surprise, as I was goiing to send you and E-mail, to see how you are doing.
No you don’t have to sign up as you were automatically enrolled when you purchased the Intermediate Lessons.
You received these sessions free with your purchase-April-May & a week in June. We start over again in June with ‘Summertime, which we will be working on new chords & playing blues. If you want to attend those classes, you can sign up
for the a Masters Music Club Monthly Piano Lessons If there is anything I can help you with, please always feel free to let me know.
