Free Beginning Piano Lesson 17
Instructions
I. When has a beginning student played Haydn with a piano duet? The best way to play in
perfect rhythm. Have you ever heard a beginning player sound so good?
II. Notice you are learning form, never taught so early, knowledge is the key to learning
III. Notice your finger exercises making sure you have an excellent foundation of music.
1. Finger Exercises: This is the first place to start with your practicing. You have page 4, 5 and 6 to start your practice sessions. Take on page at every practice session and rotate them for different days.
2. Compositions: "Adaption of Haydn" Studying "form" will help
you begin interpreting music. This is where music becomes interesting, understanding music and knowing how to interpret and compose music.
These ideas will be used in developing jazz patterns and blues patterns. When studying the piano we first learn to read music, train fingers, learn the mathematical theories of harmony, learn form and interpretation. A thorough understanding of music allows the pianist the skills and understanding to perform at a high level. Just playing notes is not playing music and the more knowledge you have
the better pianist you will become.
Practicing page 17: I suggest to practice 2 measures at a time. Practice measures 1 & 2 several times, then practice measures 3 & 4. When completed, put the 4 measures together and practice measures 1-4. Continue until you have practiced the completed composition
